The Edgewater Woodworkers are a loosely coupled band of craftsmen with diverse skills organized to promote woodworking as a hobby and profession. We have approximately 20 active members with span of interest from boxes and turning to furniture and boat building.
Members volunteer time and occasionally teach classes at Redstone Arsenal Craft center to support our military. We are very active in the "Freedom Pen Project" at Redstone and in 2007 did our part to send over 1000 hand crafted pens to our troops in Iraq and Afghanistan. AdditionalAdditionaly, we hand delivered 270275, and shipped an additional 200 pens to combat wounded troops at Walter Reed hospitalArmy Hospital in Washington. While we have not set out FPP goals for 2008 it will be challenging for sure.
We meet periodically at the Edgewater community Clubhouse in Madison and twice a year host an Arts & Craft show that includes additional art mediums such as Local artists, Photography, Jewelery, and Pottery.
